Matthew 16:18 And I also say to you that you are Peter, and on this rock I will build My church, and the gates of Hades shall not prevail against it.

Jesus said He would build His church. His church started on the day of Pentecost Acts 2:46-47 So continuing daily with one accord in the temple,
and breaking bread from house to house, they ate their food with gladness and simplicity
of heart, 47 praising God and having favor with all the people. And the Lord added to the church daily those who were being saved.

Teachings

Acts 2:40-42 And with many other words he testified and exhorted them, saying, “Be saved from this perverse generation.”
41 Then those who gladly received his word were baptized; and that day about three thousand souls were added to them.
42 And they continued steadfastly in the apostles’ doctrine and fellowship, in the breaking of bread, and in prayers.

The church holds to the teaching of Christ and the Apostles. Acts 16:4-5. The church of Christ preaches what Christ and the Apostles did.
1 Corinthians 4:17 For this reason I have sent Timothy to you, who is my beloved and faithful son in the Lord,
who will remind you of my ways in Christ, as I teach everywhere in every church.

Name

The church bares the name of Christ alone and no other.

Romans 16:16 Greet one another with a holy kiss. The churches of Christ greet you.

Acts 11:26 And when he had found him, he brought him to Antioch.
So it was that for a whole year they assembled with the church and taught a great many people. And the disciples were first called Christians in Antioch.
